Hello, welcome to BeyoungMED!
1. Theory
(1) 1550nm Erbium Laser
The 1550 nm erbium laser is a non-ablative fractional laser whose core principle is focal photothermal action. By dividing the energy into countless microscopic beams that are directed onto the skin, it precisely heats the dermis, creating microthermal zones (MTZs) that stimulate deep tissue repair.
This technology acts on the water content in the skin to create controlled thermal damage in the deeper layers (without damaging the epidermis). By activating the skin’s natural wound-healing response through its own repair mechanisms, it stimulates collagen regeneration and improves skin texture, resulting in skin tightening, wrinkle reduction, and the repair of acne scars. Additionally, the recovery time is extremely short.
(2) 1927nm Thulium Laser
The thulium laser is an infrared laser and the main target tissue for skin absorption is water. Since the water content of the dermis is higher than that of the epidermis, the accumulation of heat and temperature rise in the dermis is higher than that in the epidermis during thulium laser treatment. Since the water content of epidermis is smaller, it will not be damaged by intense heating and cause edema and injury in the heating process. The skin will only be slightly reddened, with a certain sense of heat and pain, but it will not sting, burn or even be damaged.
The 1927nm fractional mode is characterized by the use of a fractional handle to focus the laser onto a small spot (approximately 0.1-0.15mm in diameter) to irradiate the skin, achieving a non-ablative or micro-ablative effect, mainly for skin rejuvenation and wrinkle reduction. If the laser is applied for a long enough time, a micro-ablative effect is produced. If the duration of action and energy density are reduced, a thermal coagulation vertical band may be produced, which activates collagen and shrinks the skin.
After the treatment, the skin experiences a series of lasting effects. First, the moisture in the epidermis heats up, causing some proteins to micro-coagulate. This simultaneously causes melanin to be damaged by the heat and then gradually discharged from the surface of the body, where it is phagocytosed and metabolized by the body's macrophages. Second, because it penetrates deep into the dermis and slightly stimulates the dermal papillary layer, it not only accelerates collagen synthesis, but also stimulates division.
The 1927nm laser, which primarily uses thermal coagulation instead of stripping and vaporization, is a safer infrared laser.
2. Application
The 1550nm wavelength is suitable for deep-layer skin issues, while the 1927nm wavelength is suitable for superficial skin pigmentation issues. The synergistic action of the two wavelengths provides comprehensive treatment across all skin layers, addressing skin concerns at various depths to achieve skin tissue regeneration and anti-aging effects.
(1) 1550nm Erbium Laser
① Deep collagen activation: stimulates the regeneration of large amounts of collagen and elastic fibers in the dermis to achieve anti-aging and skin tightening
② Improvement of deep wrinkles: reduces the appearance of dermal wrinkles such as nasolabial folds, crow’s feet, and perioral lines
③ Acne scar repair: targets atrophic acne scars and superficial surgical scars to promote tissue reconstruction and smoothing
④ Significant pore minimization: tighten pores from the dermal layer to address sagging and enlarged pores
⑤ Skin firming and lifting: improves mild to moderate facial sagging, firms facial contours, and enhances skin elasticity
Suitable treatments: anti-aging and firming, acne scar repair, deep wrinkle reduction, comprehensive anti-aging for mature skin
(2) 1927nm Thulium Laser
① Improve skin texture: reduce fine lines, wrinkles and enlarged pores for smoother and more refined skin.
Treatment of static wrinkles: the core principle is to stimulate the proliferation of collagen fibers in the dermis, restructuring the fiber structure and flattening the sunken wrinkles, thus achieving the purpose of wrinkle removal.
Treatment of enlarged pores: through the action of non-peeling fractional thulium laser, skin renewal and metabolism can be stimulated, slight peeling and sebaceous gland secretion can be suppressed. Therefore, after adhering to regular treatment, pores and sebaceous gland secretion will be contracted and suppressed to a certain extent, and the skin will become more and more delicate and smooth.
② Improve uneven Skin Tone: reduce pigmentation, sunspots and melasma, make skin tone more even and brighter.
The principle of thulium laser treatment in treating dominant vascular melasma is to protect the dermis and avoid irritation. Thulium laser penetrates deeply enough to protect the dermis and reduce the inflammatory reaction, thus reducing hyperpigmentation.
③ Treats acne scars: anti-inflammatory, promotes skin regeneration and improves the appearance of acne scars.
The core principle of thulium laser treatment for skin inflammation is that the high temperature of the laser kills some disease-causing bacteria in the skin, and at the same time promotes blood circulation, improves skin metabolism, and achieves sterilization and anti-inflammatory effects.
④ Firming and lifting skin: anti-aging, stimulates collagen regeneration for firmer, more elastic skin.
Suitable for: Improving dull complexion, daily skin care, treating superficial acne scars, and refining skin texture.
